This is a sweet or snack for afternoon teas. It is quick & easy to make and everyone loves it.
Ingredients
• 1-2 cups of dried ‘unsalted’ peanuts
• 1 cup of sugar (white or brown)
• ½ teaspoon of cardamom powder
• 1 tsp ghee (or) butter
Heat a frying pan with ghee or butter for 1-2 minutes, and stir well the peanuts 3-4 minutes until it becomes slightly golden colour. Leave the peanuts to rest for 5 minutes so the heat is reduced. Ground/crush the peanuts in a mixer / crusher to a 60-70% powder (not as complete powder).
Take another sauce pan and heat and melt the sugar in the sauce pan with small amount of water, by stirring. You can also add cardamom powder in this mix. Add the crushed peanut into the sugar mix and mix it well. Make sure to stir and mix well.
Grease your palm with little bit of ghee and start making balls from the mixture in the sauce pan while it is still ‘slightly’ warm. Press tightly to make firm balls. Can be stored in an airtight container and enjoyed for several days.
